Congrats Carol on your major housecleaning - it takes real commitment and motivation to start and continue until you're satisfied. My sister continues to declutter her place once a month and I always wonder where the heck she's been hiding stuff because her place looks so clean and organized. She says she hides the mess in drawers and closets. Never assume anything................

Oh bloody heck, my eating program has gone with the wind!!! Sugar I don't miss any more, however, those "comfort foods" like mashed potatoes are creeping back into my diet. I've been going through another bout of tooth problems and the first thing I turn to is food. Part of the problem lately is not making my eating plan for the week ahead - I seem to fly by the seat of my pants these days. Gosh, when the cashiers at Vons and Trader Joe's start saying "Hello Connie" when I walk in the door, I know it's time to make my grocery list for the week and only go in once, not 3 or 4 times a week. So, although I haven't been successful on the challenge regarding eating, at least I'm still walking. My intention is to make better choices every day, not just when I feel like it.

I need to get back to these practices. Why are so resistant!! Feels like we are missing out or not being responsible sometimes when we "do nothing". I think I have to rephrase and value the things that are really not 'nothing' - as they can be even more important than the busy work I fill time with.

This is my theme for the month! I have really been thinking about how to keep away from or shield out the negative tide that is all around us right now. I did pretty well this week, even allowing for the wonderful wedding I attended last night. I am getting farther with my electroforming project (have most of the materials) and schedule is a little better. Some challenges thrown in against my time (needing to hire a new receptionist), but remaining positive.

Wow, this blog really hits home - I had my apartment painted on Saturday and now the task of cleaning and/or purging stuff is coming home. Just like all my things that are dusty from neglect, so is my eating and work out programs. What hit home for me on the eating program was watching Valerie Bertinelli on TV last night - she's always had an "up" spirit and yet she seems lighter and happier these days. I don't think it's just about losing the weight and looking good - I truly think her inside is now matching her outside - a real self-confidence has emerged. That's what I want to achieve.

Yeah - lots of them!! I am slowly trying to do this (the clean up or get rid o 21 things a day method), and am aware that it's not just physical clutter.

Connie- Congratulations on winning. I had a week where I had to look at my choices and see that they were postponing me from getting what I wanted. "Do I want to be healthier or not?" "Are my actions voting for what I say I want?" These are questions I keep asking myself.
